How to approach the numerical?
It has been more than 5 years of my teaching as a chemistry teacher and during this time I have learned that students find it difficult to solve numericals. The main reason for this problem is that they do not know how to approach the medical.
There is an algorithm to solve numerical and if a student cracks that algorithm. So they are able to solve any kind of numerical.And during today's increasing competition where so many competitive exams are in trend. And the most important exam which students attempt after 12th class are JEE and NEET. To solve these exams efficiently, students should have the ability to solve theory as well as numerical.
Theory and Numerical complement each other. Both provide strength to each other. This means that if you are proficient in one thing, then you can solve the other thing thoughtfully, like if you have knowledge about the theory of a subject you can solve numerical of that subject efficiently and easily. And you can strengthen your theory while solving numerical.
So, if you want to improve your numerical solving ability, then you have to be proficient in theory. And mastery in theory can be attained when you start reading books.
So now we will know that how can we approach any numerical?
And how can it be solved skillfully?
The algorithm to approach numerical efficiently is given below:
1) Read the question carefully.
2) If not understood once then read it again. It may consume some time but once you understand it, It will be very easy to solve.
3) Write all the data values given in the question.
For example, what is provided in the question, And what to find.
4) Think, which formula will be suitable for the given data.
5) Proceed the solution stepwise and with calmness.
6) Keeping in mind that all the units of given data are in same unit system i.e.SI or CGS system.
7) And most importantly, practice practice lot.
Let us understand this algorithm with the help of an example:
Calculate the energy of avogadro's number of photons having frequency of 6X10¹⁰ Hz.
So now in this given question we will use our algorithm.
First of all I read the question very carefully. And I came to know that I have to calculate energy in the question.
And two things have been given to me in the question.
Firstly, frequency is given to me, and Secondly I have been given avogadro's numbers of photons.
And formula to apply in above question will be E=nhv
Where, n= avogadro's number ( 6.02 x 10²³)
h= 6.626 x 10‐³⁴ and v= 6 x 10¹⁰ Hz
putting all the values in the formula and solving them we get
E= 23.933 J
Now after reading this article I am sure that all of you will be able to solve the numerical very efficiently.
And you will get good marks in all your competitive exams.
Thank you sir from the core of my heart..... it will help me while solving numerical problems....... and provide such type of blogs ...it will be helpful for students 🙏🏻😊
